Objectives of the Project :- The aim of this project is to improve the quality of milk production and raise the production level by improving the facilities of small-scale dairy farms engaged in milk production. For this purpose, it is possible to build cow sheds and provide high quality hybrid cows to reach the standard conditions of the farms maintained under the intensive system.

Development of medium scale dairy farms

Objectives of the Project :- The aim of this project is to improve the quality of milk production by improving the facilities of the medium-scale dairy cattle farms located in the southern province and to raise the production level of the farms maintained under the intensive system.

Establishment of high quality grazing demonstrations

Objectives of the Project :- Improved quality grass is essential to meet the nutritional requirement of cows having high milk production. The objectives of this project are to direct the farmers engaged in cattle rearing to provide nutritious grass for their cattle from their own farm and popularize high quality grass in the province.

Goat farm development

Objectives of the Project :- It is a difficult task to find high quality animals for goat breeding. Local prices for goat meat are high. Providing female animals, male animals for breeding or preparing the goat house, increasing the new ones can be done by this project and through that the project aims to develop the goat farm and increase the number of breeding animals.

Development of medium scale goat farms

Objectives of the Project :- The project aims to develop goat farms and increase breeding stock by constructing or renovating high-quality goat housing and purchasing high-quality animals.

Development of small scale pig farms

Objectives of the Project :- The aim of this project is to get piglets for fattening in order to maintain the supply of pork in the southern province and direct the farmers to carry out pig farming in an environmentally friendly way. This project can be accomplished by providing females and males for breeding, preparing pig houses or repairing pig houses.

Development of medium scale pig farms

Objectives of the Project :- It is necessary to focus on the development of pig farms to meet the market demand for meat. The supply of pork in the southern province is at a very low level and the aim of this project is to obtain piglets for fattening and to guide farmers to carry out pig farming in an environmentally friendly manner. This project can be done by providing male and female animals for breeding, preparing the pig house or renovating the pig house using new technology.

Development of small scale free range poultry farms

Objectives of the Project :- The primary objective of this project is to increase the production of eggs in the province and to increase the egg consumption of low-income families. The project aims to introduce newcomers to poultry farming to meet the family’s protein requirement and generate additional income by selling to neighbors.

Establishment of alternative poultry farms

Objectives of the Project :- The aim of this project is to direct the farmers to alternative poultry farming and this can also fulfill the protein requirement of the family.

Provision of necessary equipment for dairy value addition industries

Objectives of the Project :- The aim of this project is to improve the infrastructure of the industries involved in the value-added dairy products manufacturing and to provide the necessary facilities to improve the quality of those products.

Establishment of milk and milk products outlets

Objectives of the Project :-

1. Improvement of marketing facilities for fresh milk and milk related products
2. Thus, giving an opportunity to the people of the area to get clean and quality milk products at a reasonable price.
3. Generation of employment related to dairy products and sale of dairy products. Encouraging dairy farm owners by incentivizing dairy producers.

Conduct practical farmer training programs on processing of value-added dairy products

Objectives of the Project :- Through these training programs, practical training will be provided to the farmers on improving the quality of value-added dairy products and the latest technical knowledge on the processing of those dairy products. This is organized and conducted at the Deputy Director Office level.

Distribution of health care kits to selected dairy farms

Objectives of the Project :- It is hoped to create a healthy animal population through the improvement of health care first aid facilities in the selected farms engaged in cow and buffalo management and thus more milk production can be obtained.

Conducting training classes for farmers

Objectives of the Project :- The aim of this project is to educate the farmers about farm related problems and the specific strategies and techniques adopted to increase farm income.

Conducting field days

Objectives of the Project :- The aim of this project is to educate other dairy farmers about the daily farm related activities and specific strategies adopted by exemplary cattle farm operators in their veterinary division to increase farm income.

Conducting farmer conferences

Objectives of the Project :- All the members of the dairy farming societies established in each veterinary division should plan 01 or 02 general assembly meetings and conduct them with the participation of officials from the Provincial Director’s Office or the Deputy Director’s Office, thereby providing solutions to the problems and suggestions of the farmers.
